Rafael had a great 2005 Australian Open. He posted his best grand slam result ever, reaching the Round of 16. Even though he lost that match, to Lleyton Hewitt, in a thrilling five-setter, he served notice that he's on his way up in the rankings. Vamos, Rafael!

He and his doubles partner, Albert Costa, reached the third round, where they lost a tight three-set match against the No. 3 seeds, Woodbridge and Bhupathi.
