2005 Mercedes Cup - Stuttgart : Rafa won his 8th title of the year, at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart, Germany. He was the top seed, and defeated the third seed, Gaston Gaudio, in the final, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4. He and Fernando Verdasco reached the semis in doubles. Congratulations, Rafa!!!! This victory takes Rafa to No. 2 in the singles rankings, behind Roger Federer, and ensures that he qualifies for the year-end Masters Cup in Shanghai.

2005 TMS Montreal : Rafa won his 9th title of the year at the Rogers Cup Masters in Montreal, beating Agassi in the final. He reached the second round of doubles, with Tommy Robredo, but pulled out due to a slight shoulder injury. Congrats Rafa!!

2005 Roland Garros - Under Construction : Rafa won his first grand slam, beating Mariano Puerta 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, 7-5, in the Roland Garros final. It was his first time playing the tournament. It also was his 24th straight win, breaking the record for consecutive wins by a teenager. Well done, Rafa! We spend a great deal of time collecting and organizing albums like this. Even though he lost that match, to Lleyton Hewitt, in a thrilling five-setter, he served notice that he's on his way up in the rankings. Vamos, Rafael!
